Dr. Frans Melissen is a Professor of Sustainable Business Models at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences in
the Netherlands. He holds a PhD in industrial engineering and management science. His research focuses on the
link between sustainable development and human behavior, with special emphasis on mitigating the social
dilemma by means of sustainable business models. Frans has authored and co-authored a number of papers in
refereed journals, presented at various conferences, and has (co-)edited/(co-)authored and contributed chapters
to various (text)books. He is also the Scientific Director of the EU research project Smart City Hospitality
(SCITHOS).
